Today is a weekday. As usual, I am busy in the office. There are many things to do after I turn on the computer. Suddenly, the power went out! After that, the unit leader smilingly walked in to announce that we will get the afternoon off because of the power failure. Hearing the news, I called my friend to go to the movies and have an afternoon tea to relax my tense mood. I spent the whole afternoon laughing and chatting with my friends. I felt that I had not been that relaxed for a long time.

I remember this poem I read in the evening I arrived at Yunnan University of the Arts. Last week, I made a hot and sour soup with salt and sugar. At last, it tasted like a sunny day mixed with drizzle. It was incredibly delicious. In fact, we can learn a lot from the cooking process. My parents work outside the province all year round, while I study alone in school. Hence, we can only get together as a family during the annual Spring Festival. Recently, I made several trips in far-flung places. The most distant one I visited is Inner Mongolia, which is located far to the north. Looking at the rising sun, my mind and heart were overwhelmed with a "lucky" feeling. I remember an evening when I was left alone in the office because I had several research papers to hand in that week. That night, the office was quiet and still. I looked at the screen in front me and fully realized how a research worker’s life oftentimes resemble the person described in Zhanjiang’s “Fishing Alone” poem . It can get extremely lonely.
我记得在上周一个晚上，那时我独自留在办公室，因为那一周需要上交好几个研究报告。那个晚上，办公室静寂无声，我一个人看着眼前的屏幕，真切的体会到作为一个研究工作者，很多时候是在“寒江独钓”，十分孤单。
